When people want to know how they stand with God they must first recognize that they are not faultless by nature, that from the beginning they have tended to stray from innocence and to behave wrongfully. Their Maker is holy but they must learn to obey. After disobeying they are out of favor and even their subsequent generations are afflicted with the tendency to disobey and fall into condemnation. They cannot cleanse themselves or find forgiveness. Without a worthy Redeemer they would have no hope, but God loved his people and determined for their sake to pay sin’s penalty himself. At a chosen time he came in the form of the Savior Jesus Christ. But he was rejected by the chosen people he came to save, and many refused him and brought about his death by crucifixion. Now only those who would humble themselves and fully repent of their sins and unholiness could be cleansed and forgiven to be accepted and in his favor for eternal life.
John 3:16-20 ‘For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God. And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.’
There is no other salvation. Restoration and new life can be had only in obedience by faith of trusting in the Savior in full commitment of heart. God’s gift of holy blood sacrificed on a Roman cross must be respected completely as a full ransom for deliverance apart from human works. The Lord himself declared in Ezekiel 33:11 ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live, turn back, turn back from your evil ways, and live, for why will you die O house of Israel?’
I hope that you do not gain the whole world and lose your soul.
